Chanced across this today and thought it was a good jolt to my senses, especially in the present circumstances:
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.
Mark Twain (1835-1910)
I was quite mean to someone when he called me during the weekend. Some things irk me a lot, but today I felt a bit bad.
I’ve eaten so much over then weekend, I feel like a manatee again. A lumpy saggy unshapely sea cow. Though its great to catch up with all my friends during the festive season, I mustn’t let my waistline suffer. I want to go back to my 42kg days, but it seems almost impossible.
Catching up with Ms.Foo over the weekend was great, and we didn’t realize how time flew past until I was running late for my next appointment. We’re gonna meet up again next month, hopefully Mel can join us too. Am going to Bugis after work tonight, meeting Eliza tomorrow, possibly driving range on Wednesday (I’ve not picked up my clubs for more than a month), the girls on Thursday and maybe EK on Friday. This Saturday I have something on at 7.30pm, and will try to go to church on Sunday. Christmas arrives next week, and I’ve got a million pending errands left. Oh yes and I have to catch up with PW, Wendy, collect X’mas turkey and log cake, send stuff, pick people, parties, weddings, gatherings, not neglecting housework, office deadlines, etc. Then New Year will fly by. I’m just glad that these are happy frenzies and not dreaded chores.
Aunty Poh Li bought me a brown Coach purse from LA. I don’t like brown, but it was nice of her. I’m gonna give her a nice sexy shade of lipstick (I hope she uses it!) for Christmas and something for Shu-fen too. Aunt Michelle bought my favorite Giant Chocolate Muffin on her trip back from San Francisco. I bought Fererro Rocher for myself. We have Brandy fruit cake (the best in town) this year too, after many years of disappearance from our family’s festive menu. Yummy~
I wish Santa would give me the Folli Folie watch that I like this year for Christmas. Its $395, but I’m feeling frugal, and I should be.
I want to go home soon!
