Cable skiing is fun! 7:08 PM

Last Saturday, my two girlies and I went to Batam to cable-ski. We met early at Harbourfront, and joined a larger group of about 20 people who were heading to the same place for a day of fun in the sun. The weather was good and the ferry ride to Batam was smooth. Joey, Xann & I were excited and didn't really know what to expect.

We arrived at our destination around an hour later and after changing into the proper attire (complete with shocking pink and red life vests, helmets optional), listened attentively to the briefing and took pictures before we started. The first attempt required a fair amount of courage, and though we could barely make any progress from the launch platform, we sort of didn't mind falling into the murky muddy cold water. It completely awoken our sleepy senses as we giggled and clamoured for more. I managed to do a round on the kneeboard on my third attempt, which I was quite happy about. However, the ski itself was a whole different story. I was flung out of of the ski and fell flat into the pool, twice. Then we became lazy and didn't wanna try much, so we had lunch (nasi/ mee goreng with fried chicken) and played pool. Later in the afternoon we befriended some of the regulars there and even got a free 'ride' on ski with one of the instructors, since we couldn't do it on our own. That was exhilarating, and soooooo fun!! The highlight of the day for me.

It rained in the evening and when it was time to leave, we had 3 motorcycles to send us back to our hotel, Holiday Inn. We all enjoyed the pillion ride, albeit short. After a refreshing warm shower, we had a sumptuous dinner at Terrace café. By the time we got back to our room, we were already dog tired, and I feel asleep on the sofa while watching TV. I haven't slept so well in ages.

The next morning we had a hearty breakfast and went to Nagoya to shop before catching the ferry back to Singapore. I really enjoyed myself this weekend with food, sports and a good bonding session with my girlies. I guess it's good to take mini breaks like this once it a while… its really relaxing and rejuvenating…

It's back to work today and the heat is on once more. I suffering from various bruises from the cable ski and indigestion from too much weekend feasting. But I'm still happy. Mister Long even sent us a picture he took of us at the cable ski park. I think its so embarrassing. Lol.

Looking forward to my next break already.
