Yesterday, I spoke to 4 people named Eugene for different reasons.
One was a random young boy approaching me for some charity donation at Suntec City.
Then there was a recruiter calling me to ask if I'm interested to take up a position in HSBC.
My cousin, who got his 'O' Level Chinese results today. Rather happy for him, well done.
And the last one, I met in the evening. I may tell more later on.
Somebody tried to make friends with me on my way to work too. I didn't talk to him, but wonder if his name is Eugene too. Then that'll make 5.
What a co-incidence eh?
What's the immediate reaction a normal girl would have when someone blatantly tells her 'I lust for you'? Does it make her feel shy, outraged of modesty by the overt statement? Anger, disgust, or even flattered by the subtle draw of her sensuality? It could be a little of everything. For me, it's an outright 'what the heck' reaction. On one hand I'd say that the guy must be pretty darn brave to say it unabashedly, on the other he could be a seasoned player-in-the-field who says the same thing to 80% of females he meets. What does he expect in return upon making such a comment? In brief, there can only be 3 responses:
1) Go away you jerk.
2) Sure, let's play.
3) Let's see… just maybe…
To be fair the guys, like I recently mentioned, a clap requires two palms to meet and a one-sided interest alone would lead to nothing. I'd even go further to say that I'll actually place less 'sin' on someone who blatantly expresses his (ill) intent compared to another who conceals his true objective behind a deceivingly modest facade. At least, I know what you want and it's up to me whether to pursue anything further, right? It's like... if I decide to tickle a wolf, I'm aware of the danger of being eaten up. Hiding behind sheep's clothing is more sly in comparison, to me.
Very often though, people still play with wolves because danger is a temptation in itself. I hope I'm not playing with any.
