Dr. Chin saves my tooth 9:20 PM

I was gladly chomping away on Saturday night until I felt something crack in my mouth - then I realised it was my front tooth.

Instant trauma! Especially since I just visited Dr. Shahul my regular favourite Mister Nice-guy dentist in the morning. In sheer frantic mode, I searched and tried calling up no less than 50 clinics for an appointment the next day. Given that most dental clinics are closed on Sundays, including Dr, Shahul's and the other Dr. Leong that I visited before, I was highly unsuccessful. The few that were open for business were fully booked, and I was blatantly turned away. I couldn't possibly go anywhere with a chipped front tooth, definitely not to work on Monday. I was turning frenetic.

KC was a godsend. Thankfully, he was nice enough to pick me up and send me to his clinic, fix my tooth and manage to not laugh at me even though he was off duty. Although it was kind of weird to let a friend fix my tooth (feel very vulnerable in his dentist chair), I was glad to even have such an option then. For this I'm eternally grateful to be rescued out of tooth-distress.

After that, I finally managed to smile again for the rest of the day. We went to the Singapore Polo Club for lunch and it was a nice place to relax. Horses are really smelly though, and the pungency intensifies especially when walking near the stables. But they were beautiful creatures anyhow.

G bought the soundtrack for the Mandarin/Hokkien show we caught last week. Techno-Ah lian ecstasy. The show left an impression anyhow. It depicted sorrow, tragedy and betrayal in the life of a Getai singer. Opened our eyes to the other spectrum of society we often overlook. I never believed that God created us just to derive entertainment from our misery on earth. I still don't. If people knew Him, and called out to Him, He can deliver them from all their troubles. This is my belief.

And as for now, life goes on (with my toothmousse)...
