"Love is patient, Love is kind; Love makes one loses his mind."
I just watched the movie 27 dresses starring Katherine Hiegl and James Marsden with my buddy today, and the above is a quote by Marsden's character, Kevin at the beginning of the show. I hate to admit, but there's absolute truth about falling in love in this simple scripted statement. Losing one's mind? Might or might not be a good thing. Always been bad in my case though, so far.
Is it even a controllable emotion? Or purely involuntary just like hiccuping or sneezing? What kind of stimulus does it take for one to react to another person in the lovey-dovey kinda way? What about the intensity of feelings involved? Why does it involve impulsiveness and passion in certain cases but all? Cupid's arrow? Are you kidding me?
I really don't know what stand to take anymore regarding affairs of the heart. I've been in love, out of love, hopeful about love, cynical about love.. feel so 'been there, done that' already. I've chosen to shift my priorities away from this area for the past couple of years, but someday, cobwebs have to be swept and the slate will have to be clean once more. Is it the time to do that now?
Anyhow, the show ended with the two main characters getting hitched and living happily ever after, predictably.
Well, let's just see... Perhaps I'm still a little closed up... But we'll see...
